Fueling & Starting Aircraft

    When fueling aircraft …

  • Attach the ground wire to an unpainted portion of the aircraft
  • Chock a wheel as needed
  • Always leave some slack in the fuel hose after winding back on the spool. The tension in the fuel hose should be such that it does not rub against any of the metal rail guards when the nozzle is back in the holder.
    When starting aircraft …

  • Always position the plane so the prop wash is away from other aircraft or hangars.
  • If down at the fuel pump, angle the plane so it is parallel to the pump / hangars prior to starting. This way dirt and/or debris is not kicked back towards other aircraft.
